12.22.08 - MAJEL BARRETT RODDENBERRY, the widow of famed STAR TREK creator GENE RODDNEBERRY, died last Thursday at the age of 76. She played Number One, second in command in the pilot for the show, but was moved to Nurse Chapel once the series began airing. She also played the voice of the ships computer in the series, as well as most of the feature films, including the 11th installment due out next summer. She was a familiar face at many Star Trek conventions. She had small parts in "Leave It To Beaver" and "Bonanza".

MAJEL and GENE were married in 1969 until he died in 1991. They have 1 survivor, a son EUGENE, Jr.
